My Philosophy
I’m an “inbetweener.” I live in both a Gen Z world and Millenial world as a 90’s baby spending most of my hours with teenagers. The youngest of my teaching colleagues by a couple decades, I’m known for getting stopped in the hall by other faculty looking for my hall pass, while also serving as the chair of my school’s art department. I live in both an indigenous world and a white world with childhood memories of both pow wow fry bread and Miracle Whip grilled cheese sandwiches. This “inbetween” space isn’t always comfortable, but comfortable stories rarely make for good theater.
I am a storyteller, but more importantly, my in-between-ness makes me a translator. As a director, I bring these translations into the worlds of others to increase empathy, visibility, and serve as a cultural connector. I tell the stories of an America that are screaming to be told.

"I see passion and ability come in many forms, and it is my belief that Taylor has enormous potential
to be among the best. What impresses me most when working with Taylor is her profound ability
to compartmentalize the different roles she plays while continuously remaining productive and
respectful to her collaborators. Witnessing the relationships she has built with her students is truly
impressive. She interacts with them individually, respectfully, and always holds them to a high
standard."
